This evening I went out to dinner with a friend. Our conversation was interrupted by someone quickly running out of the deli. My friend Lisa said "did he just steal the tip jar?" Sure enough, some high school kid ran off with the tip jar. The owner said that was the third time in two weeks this has happened. I asked him how much was in the jar and he said "about $2.50."
I have some tips for the robber (pun intended):
1. Make sure you make a profit on your robberies, you probably spent more in gas driving to the deli and speeding away.
2. Wear a ski mask next time, we could totally see your face.
3. If you drop two coins when making your get away, don't stop to pick them up, it slows you down.
4. If you are that hard up for cash, you would have been better off by asking. The owner told me that he would pay you $25 to clean the windows of the store. Remember the whole profit thing?
