shocking!
So I believe that I'm more of an electricity conductor than the average person. And this problem is compounded by the fact that I live in Vegas where there is NO moisture. I can grab the kitchen faucet to turn it on and shock myself, then touch the water with my other hand not a second later and shock myself AGAIN! I have tried alot of things to reduce this. I had my carpets cleaned thinking that might reduce any excess fuzz and therefore reduce the static. I will take off my shoes when I walk on carpet. I bought a humidifier. I have tried putting static softeners in my pocket. (I read that one on the Internet) I will try to touch my keys before I touch anything metal. I close the car door with my bum. I stopped using a hair dryer. I won't by any clothing that I think will create lots of static. And the list goes on. Well I just had the worst grocery store experience EVER. I shocked myself on both the bell pepper and potato. And then I shocked myself SO bad on the grocery cart that my eyes started watering. I quickly rushed to the laundry isle and yes- I shocked myself on the anti static spray!!! Then without caring if anyone was watching, I proceeded to spray myself in the store. This is getting out of control!

Ditto what Michelle said. Also, I still think getting shocked by a bell pepper beats getting beaned in the head with a can of beans. Which Stellan has done to me. Then you have a bruise and the shame of everyone seeing your son throw things in public - at you.
I too shock myself all the time. Especially at the grocery store, but never as bad as you do!
Ouch Krissie! Do you think he chose beans intentionally?
Here in the Land of Enchantment I touch the car with my shoulder and forearm (getting shocked twice through layers of clothes) and sometimes there is still enough static left to shock me a third time.
The most insulting though is I get shocked about every time I touch the aluminum keyboard on our desktop computer (who I affectionately referred to as our other child for a while). Needless to say, that computer is no longer in my will.
I get shocked all the time here in Tucson too. We had to stop shopping at a certain grocery store because I would get shocked every 10 seconds just from the pushing the grocery cart. I get zapped on the water from the faucet and the light switches. But, a bell pepper sounds worse.
